4-H YOUTH LIVESTOCK ROUNDUP

JUNIOR BEEF HEIFER SHOW

 

Saturday, August 29, 2009, at 12 pm (or after the Lamb Show).  Animal take-in 10:30-11:30 am.

 

Entries close Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Register online.

 

NO HEALTH PAPERS WILL BE REQUIRED THIS YEAR. ANIMALS MAY BE EXAMINED BY AN ON SITE VET OR EXTENSION AGENT.  SICK OR CONTAGIOUS ANIMALS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND NOT ALLOWED TO SHOW.

 

1.  Open to youth who are 5 years old prior to January 1, 2009 and have not had their 19th birthday prior to January 1, 2009.  All 5 to 8 year olds will be able to exhibit, but will not compete.

 

2.  Heifers must be born on or after November 1, 2007, but no later than April 30, 2009. 

 

3.  Heifers must have been under the exhibitor's care since July 15, 2009.  Ownership by exhibitors is not required.

 

4.  Exhibitors will be limited to 2 entries.  If an exhibitor has more than one entry per class, the additional animal must be shown by another exhibitor or person approved by show officials.

 

5.  Classes with more than 10 entries will be divided.

 

6.  Show officials reserve the right to rearrange classes other than those advertised prior to show time.

 

7.  Heifers must be halter broken.  Unruly animals, which may endanger the safety of exhibitors, will be asked to leave the ring.

 

8.  Animals will be taken in between 10:30 and 11:30 am.
